ESPN's College Game Day sets up at the ATO house in Gainesville for pregame broadcasts Friday. The set will move to the front of the Stadium for Saturday's broadcasts.

UGH

12 points. That's all it took to change the entire lineup of the Bowls this year.
12 points.
That's all it took to dash the hopes of the Gator Nation, who were smelling the roses before they bloomed.
12 points
was the difference this past weekend as the "Cinderella season" once again turned back into a pumpkin, to rot away for another year.

UGH.
Florida was dismantled by Tennessee at the Swamp, 34-32 - two points - in what proved to be the most meaningful game, and one of the most exciting, to ever be played at Ben Hill Griffin. The Vols hadn't won in Gainesville since 1971. They were the 18 point underdogs which left the field after 60 minutes carrying the Roses that were OURS for the taking. Vols' Travis Stephens left the game with 226 yards. Grossman once again eclipsed the 300 yd mark with 362 yards and has the best overall numbers for the Heisman race (announced on 12-8 in NYC). Gillespie, Graham's replacement only had 21 yds the entire night. Jabar Gaffney tried to carry the team with 101 yds, but with a couple of dropped passes in the endzone just couldn't pull it off.

Va Tech almost took out Miami - if not for two points. Texas lost to Colorado 39-37 - two points. Oregon won the civil war against OSU 17-14 - three points, and BYU defeated MSU 41-38 - three points. The outcome of the BCS in 2001 came down to a lousy, stinking 12 points. That hurts. The way the chips fell really plays right into the arguments for the playoff system. Had we played UT in September as scheduled, when they were injured and hurting and not as strong, we'd be making plans for hotel rooms in Atlanta. Instead, the Vols and LSU, who have visited the Georgia Dome 1-0 times respectively, will be celebrating the 10-year anniversary of the SEC game without us.

So, our great season turns to good and it looks like we'll be heading down I-95 to the Orange Bowl against the Maryland Terps on Jan. 2 - the first bowl appearance the Terps have made in YEARS. For the So Cal Gator Club®, it really hits us below the belt. Instead of celebrating here, in our own backyard, as host of the Gator Nation, we end up in a bowl almost as far away as we can get across the country. That hurts. Instead of celebrating the Gator float in the Rose Bowl parade, the possibility of hearing Rocky Top 47 times along the parade route is agonizing.

UGH.
For the projected bowl lineups
For the Gatorzone story of the pain
