Gators
beat Georgia (again)
All the stars lined up for Gator Football this past weekend. The Gators beat Georgia for the 11th time in 12 years. And one-by-one, five previously unbeaten teams lost allowing the Gators to move back into the national championship hunt. The Gators amassed a series record 584 yards to beat Georgia, despite several turnovers, penalties and according to Spurrier, poor officiating. The Gators are now ranked #3 in the coaches poll and #4 in the sports writers poll. The BCS has the Gators ranked #8 behind Nebraska, Oklahoma, Miami, Michigan, Texas, Stanford and Tennessee. The bright news is...the Gators strength of schedule points should improve if we beat top teams such as Tenn, FSU (now rising) and South Carolina. The bad news is Auburn continues to hurt us; not only by beating us but going on to lose to Arkansas on Saturday. And Miss St losing to Troy State two weeks ago really hurt Ugh! Those SEC West teams are killing us! Lets hope Tennessee and FSU continue to win so we can get "quality win" bonus points when we knock 'em out. Also, without going thru all the scenarios every team above us has games remaining that they can possibly lose. Go Gators, |
